Church of the Incarnation Stewardship Campaign for 2024-25

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21

Dear Friends of the Church of the Incarnation,

On Sunday August 4, we launched the season of our Annual Appeal for 2024-25.  Many from our parish family gathered for a wonderful brunch to talk about our “abundant blessings” and the important work of stewardship.  Thank you to our Fellowship group for their incredible dedication, week after week.

It is easy to get distraught tuning into social media these days and thinking about the news of world happenings. And we have all been known to have anxiety in and about life.  For those of us fortunate enough to be retired, prior to that we gave a fair amount of time to concerns about work, concerns about having enough, being good enough, being a good parent, studying hard enough, being smart enough, etc.  Many messages from the Bible remind us that our successes have not come from the might of our hands. We have not done it alone.  We have been given much so that we can give back.

Please join me in celebrating one of the most overwhelming aspects of God’s nature—His abundant blessings.  When we talk about abundance there can be a sense of a  tidal wave of needs being met. And we are reminded in Matthew

“Do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink, not about your body or what you shall put on.”  Matt. 6:25

Let’s all take a few moments to think about the ways that God has abundantly provided for our flourishing, both as individuals and as a community of faith.  I know I can take and feel refuge and always be welcome here at our Church home.  The work of Incarnation demonstrates and shares our abundant blessings, whether it is caring for others, celebrating the Eucharist, or studying the Bible.

So this is the season we celebrate our abundant blessings and show our gratitude for God’s goodness to us.  Please prayerfully consider your pledge by completing the enclosed pledge card and return it to our Finance office by October 15.   I appreciate the wisdom, work  and sharing of our Annual Appeal Committee—Bill Trotter, Guy Lucas, Mary Beth Allen, Ruth Claiborne, Tom Cox, Kathleen Michaels and Joey Wright.
