FAQs
Do I have to be an Episcopalian to come here?
Everyone is welcome at the Church of the Incarnation. Whether you are just beginning to seek God or have walked with Christ for many years; whether you come from another Christian tradition or are exploring faith for the first time; whether you are full of questions or carrying quiet conviction—this is a house of prayer for all people.
Here, you are invited to bring your whole self—your hopes and doubts, your longing and gratitude—as we journey together in worship, prayer, and community.
Who may receive communion here?
All baptized Christians are invited to receive Communion. Others who come forward to the Altar Rail may receive a blessing in Christ’s name. To receive the Bread, please hold out your hands so the Priest may place the wafer in your open palms. To receive the wine, guide the Chalice to your lips with your fingers. After receiving the Sacrament or a blessing, please return to your pew by the side aisles and kneel or sit.
The clergy are eager to meet with anyone interested in the Sacrament of Baptism.
How do I become a member?
Everyone who worships with us regularly becomes, in a real and meaningful way, part of this community. Your prayers, presence, and gifts are joined with the life of this parish, shaping who we are and how we serve.
If you come to Incarnation from another Christian tradition—or from another faith entirely—and feel called to deepen your connection to the Episcopal Church, we would be honored to walk with you.
If you have never been baptized, please contact the parish clergy about preparing for Baptism.
If you are already an adult Episcopalian whose membership has been at another parish, contact the parish office and ask to have your letter of membership moved from your previous parish to the Church of the Incarnation.
If you have never been confirmed, contact the parish clergy about preparing for Confirmation.
If you have already been confirmed by a bishop in historic succession (ie in the Roman Catholic Church, Orthodox Church, etc.), contact the parish clergy about preparing to be received into the Episcopal Church.
Confirmation and Reception into the Church normally take place in the Fall.
