STEWARDSHIP – Cathy Crosby discussed the draft of this year’s pledge card. The committee is working on printed and e-mail invitations for the use of those hosting the stewardship dinners. They plan to launch the stewardship program in mid-June.
FINANCE COMMITTEE REPORT – Martha Wright asked for questions regarding the minutes and financial statements. She commented that the budget has had some unexpected changes, such as the creation of the Worship Committee, which was not formed when the budget was finalized. We are in good financial order.
DISCERNMENT COMMITTEE – Tom Claiborne and Ruthie Oliver, the vestry representatives to the Discernment Committee, reported on its progress. The group has finished video-interviewing ¾ of their pool of applicants. They feel strong consensus about the candidates. Tom Claiborne noted some technical problems during the process, and suggested the church revisit hiring an IT person next year. In the next weeks, the vestry must be able to meet with candidates on short notice.
TRANSITION – Until Rusty’s departure, Margaret Waters will take the position of Priest Associate. In the period between Rusty’s departure and the new rector’s arrival, she will be priest in charge. Margaret will also be teaching Sunday School through the summer. Lana Jordan, as Senior Warden, will be the canonical authority.
